Monte Fontainhas : ウィキペディア英語版 | Monte Fontainhas
Monte Fontainhas is a volcanic mountain in the middle of Brava island in Cape Verde. At 976 m elevation, it is the highest point of the island. Seismic activities occurred on the island in 1982, 1990, 1998 and in 2004. These occurred at Cadamosto seamount between Brava and Fogo Island.〔Ingo Grevemeyer, George Helffrich, Bruno Faria, Guillermo Booth-Real, Michael Schnabel and Wilhelm Weinrebe, " Seismic activity at Cadamosto seamount near Fogo Island, Cape Verdes-formation of a new ocean island? ", in ''Geophysical Journal International'', vol. 180, no February 2, 2010, p. 552–558〕 Rock types are made up of phonolite and ignimbrite. The mountainous centre of the island is often covered with clouds, which feed numerous springs, as was already observed by the 19th century traveller Armand d'Avezac.〔"Brava" in Armand d'Avezac et al., ''(L'Univers. Îles de l'Afrique )'', Firmin Didot frères, Paris, 1848, p. 208-210〕 ==See also==
